A planning inspector is chairing an inquiry and will report his findings to the Secretary of State who will then make a final decision on that scheme. If KIG goes ahead, the landowners will review their proposals for the Borough Green-Platt site in terms of its size and scale of potential operation.

If the Secretary of State rules that the KIG Bearsted terminal cannot proceed, the professional team working with the borough Green landowners will draw up more detailed proposals for Borough Green and will consult fully with local residents, the local planning authorities and other interested parties.
